The project consisted of the development and production of a rechargeable battery system, according to customer specifications, integrated in a robust case so that it remains particularly mobile, including all certifications and UN38.3 testing as well as the necessary securities for applications of PEMS systems.>
The special challenge was to develop a battery for indoor and outdoor use that meets the customer’s high requirements and also remains very robust with high energy density and yet mobile for use.
Also, the well-designed attachment system shows how flexible the AccuMotion Extender can be used.
With the optionally available mobile handheld (battery readout device), all data from the battery system can be read out (state of charge, cycles, capacities, etc.).
Focus of research
Our aim was to develop a mobile battery system suitable for the ever-growing sector of PEMS (Portable Emissions Measurement Ssystem). The energy requirement increases here due to the increasing measurement equipment, so it was necessary to develop a battery system that still has reserve power due to the additional measurements.
We paid special attention to the integration of the battery packs, because the system can accommodate1-4 battery packs 7S13P Lithium-Ion set in high quality aluminium shells to provide increased fire protection . With its particularly flexible universal accommodation of 1-4 battery packs, the AccuMotion Extender covers a wide range of applications.
The integration of the interface and the reading of up to 4 batteries simultaneously was a challenge we mastered.
AccuMotion Extender incl. 4x Lithium Ion AP7S13P high performance battery packs with approx. 37.7Ah each, total capacity over 150 Ah, total power approx.: 3905 Wh, in a high quality robust case (case type: PELI 1520).
Designed with the highest quality and most modern safety standards, the specially developed electronics built into the battery protect the battery against overcharging, deep discharge, short circuit and are equipped with monitoring of the individual cells and temperature. The new battery pack Lithium-Ion AP7S13P, 25.2V / capacity 37700 mAh / is designed for a continuous load of 40A.
The batteries are enclosed in aluminium shells (offering increased fire safety) and are vibration-proof mounted and have a high-quality Lemo push-pull plug and protective cover. The plugs are approved for a continuous load of 72A (optional 120A). With an additional plug for interface communication the monitoring of battery data is made possible for both individual batteries and the entire group..
The AccuMotion Extender has a safety on/off switch function as well as side mounting rail for universal mounting options (e.g.: tension strap etc.). The flexible interior design allows 1-4 batteries to be fitted..
