Project description
The project consisted of the development and production of a battery pack according to customer specifications with all certifications including UN38.3 testing as well as the necessary safeties for golf trolley systems with different runtime conditions. The special challenge was to design a suitable housing that is both compact and shockproof for use on different terrains as well as compatible with several trolleys. An LED display for reading the charging status was also integrated into the housing. The lithium-ion technology results in a very low weight of the battery and thus replaces heavy lead batteries, which in turn extends the battery life.
The self-developed holder can be attached without tools or other accessories (e.g. screws).
A simple snap-in system enables use in a wide variety of terrains and, above all, offers flexible attachment to the unit.
Focus of research
Our goal was to develop the complete battery design, protection electronics, enclosure and matching mount in-house to provide all the necessary safety for use as specified by the customer in the application. The housing was designed and produced in such an innovative way that it has no opening possibilities for the end customer. This provides optimal protection against foreign interference.
Our Solution
The rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack 7S4P with 25.9V/10.4Ah or 8.8Ah and the rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack 7S3P with 25.9V/6.6AH with specially developed protection electronics built into the battery with single cell monitoring for protection against over- or deep discharge, short-circuit as well as overtemperature, designed with cable and plug integrated in the housing.
The battery was designed, developed and certified by us from prototype to series production with all necessary safety features to optimally meet the defined use of the customer.
