Professional spot welding machine for battery assembly
The project consisted of the development and production of a spot welding machine that is suitable for a wide range of chemical systems (Li-Ion, NiMH, NiCd, LiFePO4, Li-Po and many more).
The aim was to design the spot welding machine in such a way that it is robust and can deliver the necessary energy of up to 4500A (secondary impact maximum current). The spot welding machine should also be suitable for a wide range of applications of battery models used for leisure, hobby or professional purposes.
A high-tech microcontroller was also installed to ensure easy operation of the machine.
The slim and elegant design rounds off the product.
Research focus
Our goal was to design, develop and produce a smart professional welding machine for our customer that not only serves different areas of application but also covers a wide range of chemical systems as well as battery and cell sizes (from button cells to larger battery packs) for battery assembly.
We have paid particular attention to ease of use and have therefore installed an optimised microcontroller module that guarantees the end customer professional operability of the device.
Our Solution
This spot welding machine was specially developed for the purposes of AccuPower’s battery manufacturing partners. The spot welding machine from AccuPower is universal, robust, easy to operate and ideally suited for spot welding all types and sizes of batteries.
It can be used in a variety of ways for spot welding for rechargeable batteries and battery packs. The MB7-3 is a professional model for service, workshop and series production.
